Runnin'

About 2 years ago I came across this verse, from a friend. This verse is so profound I don't know why he sent it to me, or why the author even bother to pen it down.

It was about a few months later did I realise that the verse came from a song. And the singer was already dead for longer than anyone was willing to remember. Point is, the verse touches me in a way I can't explain. Makes you question why you do the things you do, doesn't it?

You know, I wonder if they'll laugh when I am dead
Why am I fighting to live, if I'm just living to fight
Why am I trying to see, when there aint nothing in sight
Why am I trying to give, when no one gives me a try
Why am I dying to live, if I'm just living to die

Maybe somebody can enlighten me?
